Today Asus Zenfone Blog will share tutorial How to Flash ASUS Padfone S PF500KL with stock firmware/update firmware. With this method (method 2) you can flash your padfone s in case your padfone s is bootloop or can't enter homescreen. These methods will wipe all your data, so backup first before you do this tutorial.
Method 1 (Update/Flash via Internal Storage)
- Download the .zip firmware from ASUS website : http://www.asus.com/Phones/PadFone_S_PF500KL/HelpDesk_Download/ (Driver and Tools> Select OS Android> Firmware) Make Sure you download the same SKU with your Padfone S ( TW>TW, WW>WW). you can see your SKU at Build Number
- After Download .zip firmware, then place it to Padfone S internal storage (not sdcard)
- Then go to settings>About>System Update>Check for Update
- Wait for Notification to update (If no notification try rebooting device)
- Choose the .zip package and wait until finish.
Method 2 (Flash via Recovery)
- Download the .zip firmware from ASUS website : http://www.asus.com/Phones/PadFone_S_PF500KL/HelpDesk_Download/ (Driver and Tools> Select OS Android> Firmware) Make Sure you download the same SKU with your Padfone S ( TW>TW, WW>WW). you can see your SKU at Build Number
- After Download .zip firmware, then place it to SDCard
- Insert SDCard to Padfone S
- Turn off Padfone S then enter recovery by pressing power+volume down
- After above image shows, choose 1. boot to recovery Mode
- Then at Recovery mode, choose wipe data and factory reset
- Choose apply update from external storage, and choose your .zip firmware
- Wait until Finish
